The Inside Sales Manager works to increase company revenue by directing the Inside Sales staff, developing and exploiting market opportunities in partnership with the Outside Sales forces and Marketing. Staff includes all Inside Sales Account Managers and Floor Supervisors. The primary focus is on achieving revenue goals in a territory consisting of new sales and renewal orders.
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for Inside Sales Strategy and Planning.
- Assists staff with meeting or exceeding monthly/quarterly/yearly sales goals.
- Sales goals are achieved through three primary means:
- Outbound sales calls to customers regarding product promotions;
- In-bound customer service class from customers regarding product orders and questions, which may also involve up selling and crossing of products;
- Support to Territory Managers, by partnering to increase sales and awareness of company products in their territory.
- Maintains sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
- Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; coaching and counseling disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies and procedures.
- Increases market penetration by using sales statistics; estimating volume and profit potential; preparing forecasts. Formulates plans to accomplish objectives.
- Achieves market share by implementing promotional strategies developed within the department or in conjunction with Marketing.
- Maintains rapport with key customers by making periodic phone calls or visits; exploring specific needs; resolving problems.
- Maintains assets and organization reputation by protecting brand and image in export advertising. Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Effectively uses multiple software systems to service accounts. This includes, but is not limited to Onyx, Great Plains and MS Suite.
- Attend new product training as requested.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum 5 years sales experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Sales management role, preferably in a call center.
- Experience in the animal health industry preferable.
- Knowledge and understanding of sales; assessment techniques of examining; questioning; evaluating and reporting sales.
- Flexibility to deal gracefully with changes in priorities, scheduling and responsibilities.
- Ability to plan, organize, communicate, and direct staff.
- Ability to understand technical and non-technical documents as related to sales of and contracts for the company’s products.
- Excellent telephone selling skills, proven experience with successfully closing sales and overcoming customer objections.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with a variety of people.
- Ability to multitask.
- Self-motivated, independent worker who is also comfortable as part of a team.
- Proficient with MS suite of products.
