The Inside Wholesaler will proactively market and solicit retail John Hancock mutual funds, 529 College Saving Plans and PMA sales throughout the broker-dealer community. Working in conjunction with an assigned Business Consultant and the marketing team, this individual will proactively manage and cultivate a sales territory via professional telephone sales activity. Responsible for providing value added ideas and marketing support to all brokers, agents, and registered representatives in the defined territory.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain relationships with individual investment advisors while providing sales support and service to a business consultant in the field.
- Support the business consultant with information about territory sales and broker requests and work with the business consultant as a partner to build sales in their region and with the firm.
- Provide superior service and contact investment advisors with updates pertaining to the mutual funds they sell, assist in handling inbound calls, prospect for new business, cross sell existing brokers on different products and assist brokers with asset allocation.
- Help investment advisors increase their business by producing hypothetical illustrations, updating them on current marketing materials, and informing them of upcoming conference calls or conferences in their area.
- Participate in Sales Idea roundtable discussions and feedback sessions.
- Attend meetings involving other departments to acquire knowledge about competitors and John Hancock's internal strategies.
- Form partnerships with other John Hancock product teams to ensure multi-product pitches are consistent and effective.
- Provide leads to other sales desks to help John Hancock increase sales in diversified products.
- Assist in development, implementation, and delivery of training classes for Inside Wholesalers.
- Act as project leader for department initiatives where implementation and follow-through will be expected.
- Act as a Senior Mentor to new Inside Wholesalers. Facilitate sales idea and staff meetings when coverage is needed. Fill in for Wholesaler meetings when needed.
- Act as Fund Liaison/Firm/Separate Account/Marketing Liaison. Relay a positive attitude about department initiatives and stand behind decisions of management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 1-2 years of sales experience preferably within the financial industry
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills, creativity, enthusiasm and a positive work attitude needed
- Must have the ability to work in a team environment, work under pressure of high call volumes and adapt to a changing environment
- Series 6 or 7 and 63 preferred
- CRPC required within first year of hire
