Installation and Repair Supervisor Job Job Description Posting Job Title: Installation and Repair Supervisor Requisition #: 134157BR Posting Location: United States - New Hampshire - Center Conway Area of Interest: Engineering/Technical Operations Position Type: Full Time Posting Job Description: JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to perform administrative and supervisory functions related to cable installation and repair activities and field personnel. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: Supervises interviews, selects, promotes schedules, motivates, evaluates, and disciplines I/R personnel. Knowledge and practice of supervisory skills, to include company policy and procedures. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, policies, procedures, and practices. Handles the more difficult field jobs and customer service complaints. Applies thorough knowledge of electronics, installation techniques and repairs, building materials, and structures. Uses various tools and equipment proficiently. These include, but are not limited to: screw drivers, pliers, shovels, ladders, and various test equipment. Ability to solve and repair technical problems with customers and technicians through effective verbal communications. Inspects service vehicles periodically and audits system for quality, performance, customer satisfaction, and controls inventory to monitor distribution of supplies and equipment. Applies knowledge of OSHA, FCC, and TWC regulations and specifications when inspecting vehicles and auditing system. Ability to organize and control inventory of supplies and equipment. Conducts investigations for illegal cable television connections and field checks to determine serviceability of potential customers. Applies working knowledge of FCC and TWC regulations, electronics, and installation techniques when conducting investigations and field checks. Completes various field operations reports. Communicates, in writing, various information used for management decision making. Uses computer to generate data and documents. Working knowledge of CCor and workforce management systems Recognizes, practices, and enforces Divisional and OSHA safety rules and procedures. Wears safety apparel, which includes hard hats (where required) and proper footwear. Reports all unsafe acts, conditions, accidents, and injuries, verbally and in writing to HR department manager. Helps maintain personnel files and administers other personnel functions for the installation repair department. Ability to supervise technical personnel. Uses written communications to document and help maintain personnel files. Sells additional services and/or products to customers. Utilizes verbal, written, and interpersonal communications to sell services and products. Utilizes thorough knowledge of cable product, programming, choices and prices. Has on-call duties, during non-business hours, in the event of a system outage. Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must have supervisory training and experience, along with three to five years of general CATV experience. Customer service experience is preferred. Skills include: driving, lifting and carrying equipment, climbing, and in the use of mobile radio. Must have good verbal, written, and interpersonal communications. Thorough knowledge of electronics, installation techniques and repairs, building materials and structures. Working knowledge in the use of various tools and equipment, familiarity of OSHA, FCC and TWC regulations and specifications, supervision procedures, basic mathematics, and city and design map reading. Ability to supervise personnel and manage technical procedures. Ability to organize and control inventories, respond quickly to system outages and solve technical problems with customers and technicians through effective communications.
