Position Description:
The Institutional Business Group (IBG) Associate will work closely with PIMCO's Account Managers to service institutional consultants and prospects. The Associate's primary responsibility is to act as a resource and ensure the highest level of service to consultants as well as contribute to the business development efforts. He or she responds directly to consultant and prospect inquiries on PIMCO's investment products and capabilities. Other responsibilities include meeting preparation, researching industry and financial markets information, risk measurement/analysis and special projects. Associates interact with all levels of internal and external professionals. Associates must exhibit a strong sense of urgency when responding to requests and be able to juggle multiple priorities. The successful Associate will operate as an entrepreneur and be proactive about problem solving.

This position requires an analytical, detailed professional who can:

• Efficiently utilize tools such as Excel spreadsheets, macros, query tools, and external databases
• Analyze portfolio data including qualitative and quantitative performance attribution
• Professionally communicate with all levels of staff, internal and external
• Have a strong client service mind-set and exhibit a strong sense of urgency when responding to internal and external requests.
• Have a fundamental understanding of fixed income and fixed income markets combined with a strong desire to learn more.
• Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Utilize effective time management skills to maintain a commitment to quality and attention to detail; ensure that all work is completed accurately and on time

Position Requirements:
Education:
Must possess a four-year college degree with a preferred major in Business/Finance, Economics, or Accounting. Progress toward the CFA designation is a plus.

Experience:
At least three years of finance-related experience preferred, ideally in the fixed income, equity or alternative markets. Ideal candidates are familiar with fixed income instruments and the economic underpinnings of the fixed income asset class. Candidate must pass Series 3, 7 and 66 license tests.
