The US/Canada Defined Contribution (DC) business is currently one of BlackRock's most dynamic businesses and has been named by senior management as one of the main engines for future revenue growth. By focusing directly on delivering innovative solutions for DC plans of mega market institutions as well as those in smaller markets intermediated by platforms, consultants and financial advisors, the DC business has helped solidify BlackRock's position as a leader in the DC industry.
Summary of position:
BlackRock's DC business is looking for a smart, dynamic, creative professional to join our marketing team. This position, reporting to the head of DC marketing, is responsible for leading major institutional initiatives, including client conferences, events and sales programs that deliver high-impact to clients and prospects across various institutional segments. This individual will be accountable for the development of marketing programs together with the implementation and business impact associated with the initiative, so the ideal candidate thrives in a "hands-on" environment, possesses strong execution skills and is able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines at once.
The role requires a unique blend of asset management, marketing, business and product management experience, as well as an advanced understanding of the needs and issues facing clients in the DC market, including knowledge of plan design trends, investment solutions (i.e. target date funds) and regulatory/legislative updates.
Responsibilities
-Develop and execute the DC institutional marketing strategy/calendar to support and drive institutional sales efforts and business goals
-Partner with sales and investment teams to identify, develop and deliver marketing solutions for client needs (including client presentations, webinars, events, product positioning, whitepapers and other marketing and sales support initiatives)
-Partner with investment teams to develop and maintain consistent DC product messaging across all marketing mediums (collateral, web, presentations) and channels (institutional and retail)
-Lead marketing communications colleagues (through influence) to develop direct mail/email programs, web presence, advertising and other initiatives that align with business goals.
-Manage, coordinate and innovate BlackRock's participation in DC industry conferences
Location
-NYC/Princeton (1-2 days/week in Princeton office is required)
Qualifications
-Ideal candidates will have 8+ years experience in financial services; institutional asset management experience is preferred. The most suitable candidates will have experience marketing or selling investment-only DC capabilities to institutions.
-Deep knowledge of DC plan design concepts and investment menu construction
-Strong relationship management skills, passion, energy and team
-Experience developing brands and leveraging multi-media marketing tactics
-Experience managing a team (directly indirectly)
-Financial/business certifications/designations a plus (S7/63, MBA, CFA, etc).
