Position Description:
POSITION SCOPE PIMCO is seeking an Institutional Equity Salesperson as we seek to build the institutional business development effort for our equity strategies in North America. The individual will be charged with identifying sales opportunities and developing relationships with prospective clients and also work with our Account Management teams to position equity strategies with existing clients. The individual will also work closely with our Consultant Relations team to interact and position PIMCO's equity strategies with key consulting firms. The ideal candidate will have a "rolodex" of institutional client relationships such as corporate and public pension plans, foundations, endowments, other non-profit organizations. (Please note that an equity sales trading background is not a fit for this role). POSITION SUMMARY, LOCATION, AND RELATIONSHIPS The Institutional Equity Sales position will be based in our Institutional Business Group with responsibility for the origination of new assets from prospects and existing clients. The individual will also assist with the development of PIMCO's capabilities to better serve our equity investors and provide insights on investor demand for equity products and strategies. The position will be based in either our Newport Beach or New York locations and will report to the Head of the Institutional Business Group. Internal Relationships The Institutional Equity Salesperson must build solid internal relationships and partnerships with Account Managers, Product Managers and Portfolio Managers within the firm. The role would also require frequently interaction with senior management at PIMCO as it relates to providing perspective, insights and feedback on equity investor demand and trends. External Relationships This position requires frequent interactions with potential and existing clients, investment consultants, institutions and other professional advisors. Such institutions include corporate and public pension plans, foundations, endowments, other non-profit organizations

Position Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Education Undergraduate degree is required. The ideal candidate will hold an advanced degree in business or economics from a leading university. At a minimum, the series 7 and 63 will be required for this role. Preference will be given to candidates with their CFA designation, and/or other industry licenses. Experience Eight to ten years' experience related to the sale of institutional investment management services and products is required. The ideal candidate will have a "rolodex" of institutional client relationships such as corporate and public pension plans, foundations, endowments, other non-profit organizations. A minimum of five to seven years' experience in institutional equity sales is required. The candidate will have the demonstrated ability to develop sales and marketing plans, source new relationships, position investment strategies and products with institutional clients and meet business development objectives. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Institutional Equity Salesperson is responsible for raising new assets from prospects and existing clients in PIMCO's equity strategies. This position requires a dynamic, articulate and analytical professional who can: • Develop a marketing plan in the institutional investor space for PIMCO's equity products and strategies • Understand prospect and client needs, both short and long term, and become familiar with decision processes and decision makers. • Promote investment product sales through frequent meetings and discussions covering investment strategy, equity market developments and investment performance, • Establish, build and sustain assigned prospect relationships through idea generation, which positions the firm as a capable, creative and trusted advisor. • Diligently research prospect needs and requirements in order to offer appropriate solutions to the prospects specific investment objectives. • Work closely with clients, consultants, and internal team members, marketing and support personnel. Provide insights and feedback on institutional investor demand patterns to internal client teams, product managers and portfolio managers • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales program designed to drive revenue growth with U.S. based institutional investors. • Demonstrate a high level of understanding of the investment management industry and competitor dynamics as it relates to equity products and strategies. • Record/document all communications/activities for ongoing follow-up. • Maintain, update and prioritize database of clients/contacts.
