Instructional Design Consultant


Job Description:

Design and develop online training programs using Adobe Captivate software.
Modify and improve existing course materials, as needed in order to adapt to any changes that occur.
Design and develop instructor-led training courses, as required based on needs.
Confer with training staff to determine quality of developed training materials.
Deliver training courses that meets clearly stated learning objectives.
Evaluate training to measure knowledge transfer and effectiveness of training.
Handle special projects and related tasks, as assigned.
Some experience with Technical and Professional Course Development
Ability to create and modify E-learning Modules and Solutions
Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills
Demonstrated Decision Making and Problem Solving Skills

Positions in this function are responsible for conducting training needs analysis for the business and developing all training materials, communications and activities to meet the organization's job/role requirements. Involves conducting ongoing evaluations and assessments to ensure effectiveness of programs and recommending/ implementing modifications as necessary. May work with SMEs to obtain training content. May include design and development of online and web-based training materials.

Competencies:

Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
Demonstrate the ability to create online content and written documentation.

**Note: Primary location for this position is Rocky Hill, CT. However, person could office out of one of the following locations: Golden Valley, MN; Eden Prairie MN; Chattanooga, TN; Dallas, TX or Plano, TX.
Requirements:

Bachelors degree
Strong knowledge of Adobe Captivate Software or other online authoring tools.
At least 7+ years of training experience with a general understanding of instructional design methodology and adult learning theory.
Intermediate proficiency with MS Office products

Preferred:

Adult learning theory highly preferred
Healthcare experience
Experience working in a matrix environment
Previous management experience highly preferred
