Wright State University Lake Campus is seeking 3 nine-month, non-tenure track faculty positions for the 2012-2013 academic year beginning August 1, 2012.
Sociology Instructor. The successful candidate will provide instruction in Introductory Sociology and/or
Political Science Core Curriculum courses (non-majors), and selected courses within the Sociology, Social Work, and Criminal Justice majors.
Required Qualifications: Earned master’s degree in Sociology; knowledge of and/or experience working with adults.
Preferred Qualifications: Completion/near completion of doctorate in an appropriate field; successful university teaching experience; knowledge of technology as a tool in teaching and learning; evidence of scholarly potential and of service to the academic community.
Biology Instructor. The successful candidate will provide instruction in Introductory Biology Core Curriculum courses (non-majors), and selected courses within the Biology major, and/or Biology for Early and Middle Childhood Education majors.
Required Qualifications: Earned master’s degree in an area of Biological Science; knowledge of and/or experience working with adults.
Preferred Qualifications: Completion/near completion of doctorate in an appropriate field; successful university teaching experience; knowledge of technology as a tool in teaching and learning; evidence of scholarly potential and of service to the academic community.
Education Instructor. The successful candidate will provide education pedagogy instruction to undergraduate students in initial teacher education preparation programs. Courses may focus on early childhood, middle childhood, and/or adolescent/young adult pedagogy. Additional responsibilities may include clinical supervision and assistance with professional program development.
Required Qualifications: Three years successful P-K-12 teaching experience, an earned master’s degree in Education; knowledge of and/or experience working with adults; current professional teaching license.
Preferred Qualifications: Completion/near completion of doctorate in related field; successful university teaching experience; experience supervising student teachers; knowledge of technology as a tool in teaching and learning; integration of pedagogy for special needs learners; evidence of scholarly potential and of service to the academic community.
