Instrument Repair Technician Job in Houston 77011, Texas US

Houston Precision has an immediate full time position for a Calibration Technician.

This candidate must have some experience in operating various test equipment to perform calibration on the following:

Height Gages

Mic Tracs

Granite Surface Plates

Linear Measuring Systems

Optical Comparators

Ovens

Super Mics

Video Systems

The purpose of this position is to perform preventative maintenance, calibration, service, set up and repairs on machines associated with measuring equipment and is responsible for servicing equipment in a high quality manner.

Duties include but not limited to working onsite at customer location servicing equipment and managing customer requirements related to the service. Responding to service requests including installations, relocations, calibrations, preventative maintenance and basic repairs.

Works closely with service advisors for scheduling of service work and ensures that the schedule meets customer needs, also must seek assistance from others when unable to meet customer expectations.

Prepares calibration certificate and data reports.

Maintains company assets (cars, tools, inventory, laptop computer, etc.) in good working condition.

Skills and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions:

Good Vision

Math Skills

Sharp eye-hand coordination

Ability to analyze and interpret data (in order to complete calibration procedures).

Must have strong communication skills

Knowledge of the technical standards for establishing calibration set out by NIST ISO 17025.

Background in metrology calibrations.
