Job Description Job Classification: Contract Instrumentation Tech Job Responsibilities - Install, calibrate, troubleshoot and modify process control instruments or systems for manufacturing applications - Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and modify control equipment for manufacturing related utilities - Program/configure PLCs, microprocessor-based controllers and data loggers - Assist with control systems start-up and validation - Collect and organize technical data from equipment manufacturers, equipment users, and engineering personnel - Assist with identification, purchase, and organization of spare parts - Interact with customers, including scientists, engineers and production staff - Thorough knowledge of the fundamental operating principles of industrial process instrumentation and systems - Thorough knowledge of ISA standards and practices for instrumentation - Thorough knowledge of relay ladder logic and programmable controllers - Practical knowledge of computer-aided manufacturing automation - Ability to read and interpret engineering documents and shop schematics - Possess good oral and written communication skills Qualifications Job Requirements Education and Experience - High School diploma or equivalent required - Completion of an Instrumentation/Industrial Electronic 2-year curriculum at a technical school, or an AA/AS Degree in a related science or engineering major including substantial relevant on-the-job training a plus.
