Insurance Accounting Specialist
Your responsibilities will therefore include, but are not limited to:
• Responsibility for all aspects of accounting for assigned reinsurance contracts
• Verification of underwriting data for quota share and excess of loss contracts
• Provide technical support (accounting and claims) to underwriters
• Maintain the accuracy of premium information on excess of loss contracts including endorsements, premium adjustments and cash allocations
• Maintain all aspects of quota share programs including bordereau reporting
• Verify, prepare and record all claims activity
• Allocate of cash
• Monitor aging of accounts receivable
• Liaise with brokers and underwriters regarding queries, outstanding receivables and premium adjustments
• Liaise with Company’s Finance team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with internal deadlines
• Support Finance team to complete RSG monthly close
Our ideal candidate must have the following background and abilities:
• Understanding of accounting for quota share and excess of loss contracts
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels and in all areas of the organization
• Self-starter, can work without supervision
• The ability to work in a team environment and work under time constraints
• Preferred: The ability to read and understand contracts, experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry and experience with underwriting systems
• Fluent in German and English (written and verbal)
