Job Summary:
HearingLife, a highly-respected national retail audiology services company with ~85+ locations in the US, has a dynamic new opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced hands-on insurance billing specialist/supervisor to join our corporate team headquartered in Somerset, NJ.  Reporting to the VP of Finance, in this position, you'll apply your established knowledge and functional insights to drive and continually strengthen our insurance billing processes - directly contributing to the achievement of our rapid-growth revenue targets and expansion plans.  You'll directly oversee daily claims billing for HearingLife's nationwide locations, ensuring timely submissions, detailed follow-up, formulation and resolution of insurance appeals, correspondence and receipt of payments.  You'll interact with other internal corporate accounting and operational functions, while maintaining strong working relationships with our nationwide clinic-based front office staff.

Essential Functions:
• Supervise the insurance processes for all HearingLife clinics.
• Ensure that claims are prepared and submitted in an accurate timely manner.
• Work closely with insurance companies on behalf of Hearinglife to resolve outstanding issues and secure payment on unpaid or denied claims.
• Work with insurance companies to help determine amounts of coverage, the appropriate co-pay to charge and the most cost effective type of medical care.
• Analyze workflow and current processes.
• Create reports and reconciliation to ensure that all claims are being billed and followed up on and also supply provider with practice management reports monthly or as needed.
• Improve the collection of patient responsibility and copayments.
• Evaluate and process explanation of benefits.
• Ensure that all specialists are credentialed under Hearinglife.
• Guarantee fast and efficient billing, and compliance with HIPAA requirements and other governmental rules and regulations.
• Make recommendations in regards to compliancy issues.
• Keep up to date on industry changes and accepted billing practices.
• Assist Hearinglife in correct billing to ensure that maximum reimbursement is being received. Continued follow-up and analysis.
• Strong communication with office staff and State Coordinators.
• Input data in all office systems accurately and timely, including filing.
• Follow-up with EDI company to ensure electronic filing is working.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Consistent, Regular and Punctual Attendance
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years insurance billing and collection experience.
• Must have basic knowledge in Federal and State Collection law Strong knowledge and current depth with insurance terminology such as CPT, ICD-9, co-pay, and deductibles.
• Strong background and knowledge with ICD-9, CPT, Revenue and Condition codes as well as HCFA forms.
• Experienced in Manage Care.
• Hearing Care billing experience preferred.
• Customer focused and quality driven.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office and quality reporting systems.
• Effective communicator.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Demonstrated ability to establish trust and rapport and perform work based on the principle of integrity.
• Team player.

Required Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelors highly preferred.
• Post high school courses in insurance billing, data processing and medical terminology preferred.
• Certifications in insurance billing, data processing and medical terminology also desired.

Special Conditions:
• Saturdays and/or overtime may at times be required.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
