Insurance Credit Analyst
Overall Summary of the Job:
Analyzes financial data and management quality to evaluate and qualify the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money to business or individuals. Assists in data gathering, analysis, structuring and underwriting of specific lending. Must have at least 7-10 years experience and an in-depth working knowledge of the insurance industry for both property casualty and life insurance.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Administers and documents potential accounts to be reviewed. Coordinates information required to support comprehensive credit analysis, underwriting and structuring
- Analyzes financial documentation and supplemental data on complex and urgent transactions and reviews to support lending decision-making; recommends credit requests, structuring transactions to appropriately meet business needs
- Clears credit exceptions
- Prepares credit analyses in support of new and existing business opportunities, including number of credits processed, modifications, inactivations, declines, initial and annual reviews
- Analyzes operating trends, financial ratios, debt service capacity, liquidity and overall credit risk for conclusion and recommendation
- Provides technical advice and assists lenders as needed. Serves a resource for traders, salespeople and other colleagues. Adheres strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with bank and regulatory standards, policies and practices; reports control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events
- Complete other related duties as assigned. Support the Company’s Diversity programs

Controls workflow and provides exceptional service and product to constituents in given industry sector (Insurance)
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
· 7 years minimum of credit analysis experience – insurance industry experience required
· Degree in Management/Accounting/Finance (preferred)
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
· Excellent analytical and communication skills. Ability to multi-task
