WHO WE ARE:AAA NCNU Insurance Exchange (formerly CSAA) sells personal auto and property insurance to AAA members. AAA is a national brand with over 50 million members. The company sold its first policy in 1914 and today services over 2 million insurance policyholders across 23 states.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

AAA believes strongly in mentorship and we are seeking a current junior or senior college student to participate in a 10-week internship. This is a unique opportunity to learn how a successful near century old insurance company operates and makes important business decisions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Insurance Intern will support either Product Management or Partner Club Sales and Service (PCSS):

While working within the Product Management group, interns will help research, develop and validate product features for auto and homeowners insurance. Interns will research demographics, regulatory requirements, and competitor information in various markets in order to determine what products should be offered to customers. In addition, interns will assist in developing communications for agents and employees regarding a wide array of product related topics.

While working within the PCSS group, interns will help to answer questions about how the business works. From measuring trends in product performance and forecasting future results to understanding how the industry changes affect sales and cancellations, the PCSS group ensures that the business is growing profitably. You will use metrics such as close ratio and elasticity of demand to anticipate where the business will be going and make suggestions on how to correct issues before they happen.

This is not an actuarial internship.

Knowledge, Skills Abilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

-Current College Student entering 3rd or 4th Academic Year

-GPA of 3.0 or above

- Strong communication skills

- Basic analytical and financial skills

- Strong reading and comprehension skills

- Understanding of statistics

- Ability to take large amounts of data and synthesize information into concise pieces of analysis

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred:

-Majoring in Business with a concentration in Risk Management

-Basic understanding of Insurance and/or member services financials, pricing principles and methodology for Insurance and/or member services products

- Strong analytical/problem solving skills

- Quick learner

- Strong Microsoft Excel skills

- Advanced statistical software experience (SAS, SPSS, R) a plus
