Position Description:
Reviews commercial system processing and recommends design changes for improvement.

Directs reviews of Commercial Service Center efficiency, cost control and effective implementation of training, procedures, and business practices.

Consults with Commercial Product teams for implementation of new and modified products including procedures and communications and provides business cost benefit analysis for each release.

Interacts with Commercial Compliance department and state bureaus to ensure compliance with applicable statutes; collaborates and consults with external departments for implementation of new and modified processing systems.

Position Requirements:
Supervises assigned personnel. Reviews commercial system processing (including but not limited to CLS,eCLS, Mainfile, Reinsurance, Tranzax, Predictive Modeling) and recommends design changes to improve processing or incorporate coverage/underwriting rule changes.

Provides business cost benefit analysis, business solution models, and estimated Business ROM hours for each release.

Manages system defects opened by Commercial Service Centers and HomeOffice Commercial departments, coordinates validation and resolution of defects through development of PSD’s (preliminary system design)specifications, and attends walk-through meetings and peer reviews with programmers.

Monitors and analyzes regional Commercial Service Center needs and coordinates necessary Home Office actions for implementation of corrective action.

Manages releases by coordinating and participating with Commercial Operations, Programming, QA and other affected departments in the development and life cycle of each bi-monthly release.

Provides status reports to executives on production-readiness of each release; coordinates and participates in the production validation and subsequent program correction process for all Commercial releases when migrated to the Production environment.

Partners with Commercial Contracts and Forms Department in the creation, modification and implementation of all form related processes andprojects.

Coordinates and communicates with all downstream and external departments (i.e., MIS, Claims, AMS, EasyPay) impacted by Commercial projects/ defects to ensure they are informed; assuring the flow of statistical, financial, and data elements continues with expected accuracy; develops procedure bulletins, procedure announcements, breaking news bulletins and manual pages to communicate procedural changes, rate changes, etc. to downstream/external departments, Commercial Service Centers and Agency force.

Manages the maintenance of existing rate and forms tables for all states, and the creation of new rate and form tables as needed.

Directs the establishment of customer driven service goals and monitors and communicates results; conducts Commercial Service Center reviews to ensure efficiency of operations and compliance to with procedures and practices; participates in field travel for reviews, consulting on customer needs and products research.

Performs liaison activities between Home Office Commercial and the Commercial Service Centers; provides guidance and counsel to Commercial Service Center Managers and their staffs.

Manages budget expenditures within own department codes by reducing costs/overhead and increasing team production, thus contributing to management company expense goals. Develops and promotes teamwork incentives.

Performs other functions as assigned.

10-25% Travel may be required.

Position Attributes:
Four-year college degree is required.
Degree in Business preferred.

PMP certification is preferred.

IIA certificate or actively pursuing CPCU program preferred.

3-5 years of insurance experience is required.

Commercial Lines insurance experience is preferred.

Management experience over a Business Analyst is preferred.

Some project management experience is preferred.

Previous work experience with policy service operations is preferred.

Ability to use PC and proficient with various software.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated project management and presentation skills.

Mainframe and web-based application is preferred
