INTEGRITY Technologist / ENGINEER – Integrity Verification and repair
The Integrity Technologist/Engineer is a member of the Technical Services group and supports IPF’s strategies to operate pipeline assets in a safe, compliant and reliable manner, and to aggressively manage operating expenses. The Integrity Technologist/Engineer will manage various aspects of the Integrity Verification and Repair Program in particular the ILI, Dig and Risk Assessment Program in addition to providing support to the Program Lead. The Integrity Technologist reports to the Program Lead, Integrity Verification and Repair.
To fulfill the responsibilities listed below and to meet annually established objectives, the Integrity Technologist/Engineer works closely with Field Operations, Land, Business Development, other members of the Technical Services group, and external stakeholders (industry committees, regulators, etc.).
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
Program Management
- Responsible for line segment numbering, pipeline data inventory, pipeline route sheets in coordination with Drafting, and improvement of quality and validation of data.
- Investigate, gather and prepare information for Authorization For Expenditure (AFE) notes for In-line inspection (ILI), dig, and other integrity related projects.
- Working with internal and external corrosion control Program Owners to better integrate learning’s from ILI into prevention programs. Preparation of status summary reports following ILI and dig projects.
- Preparation of questionnaires, quotes from vendors and contracting companies for various ILI projects.
- Annual updating of information for risk assessment.
- Internal and external reporting on various aspects of the pipeline and activity data such as AIF, CEPA performance indicators, budget presentation graphs, Insurance information requests.
Engineering Support
- Compile data and information for engineering assessments for changes in pipeline operation and status.
- Respond to field, management and technical requests as required.
Experience, Education and Skills:
- 2-5 years of industry experience; experience in the pipeline industry is a strong asset
- An engineering degree or engineering technologist diploma (preferably Metallurgical, Electronics or Mechanical) and registration with APEGGA or ASET or equivalent
- Attention to detail, ability for problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication skills to internal and external stakeholders are essential
- Must have a good working knowledge of applicable rules, regulations and industry standards
