- Applying specific product, technology and industry related specialised skills to proposals, requirements, designs, implementations, production projects and engagements.
- Understanding and applying knowledge of information technology and associated tools of their technical specialty to support attainment of team and department objectives.
- Effectively negotiating with technical peers and customers to implement technical solutions.
- Analysing technical problems and creating solutions involving the use of existing techniques and/or tools.
- Challenging the validity of given procedures and processes with the intent to enhance and improve a customer solution.
- Assisting the Project Manager by providing a technical project coordination role.
- Providing coverage for BAU Intel Server Management teams when no billable project work is available.
- Assisting in the preparation of reports to clients if and when required.
- Ensuring that comprehensive documentation and procedures are in place for all projects.
- Identifying new service opportunities and carrying out Due Diligence for future client proposals to ensure that all aspects of the clients’ operational environment have been covered.
- To investigate streamlining processes where required and to recommend and implement any cost saving opportunities where identified to maximise the cost effectiveness of the Intel Technical Project Services team.

About the Role
The IT Specialist has specific product, technology and industry related skills and the position presumes a level of expertise based on the strong combination of industry experience and certification. Microsoft certification to the level of Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS - Windows 2008). The position involves normal office conditions, however due to the role being in a project implementation and support environment, this position may dictate exposure to irregular hours, hence flexibility is a key requisite of this role. Providing relief to BAU Intel Server Management teams is expected during non-billable project periods.
The key responsibilities of the IT Specialist include performing assigned technical tasks, assisting the Project Manager in the technical coordination of delivery activities, preparation of installation plans from architectural solution designs, and execution of the implementation plans. The role also covers problem analysis, product installation, testing, security implementation and documentation.
