Intellectual Property Insurance Services Corp. is seeking an analytical and organized individual to become an effective member of an underwriting team.  As an Intellectual Property Researcher, you will work with Senior Underwriters to research, analyze and produce auditable reports which support the review of applications for Patent, Trademark and Copyright litigation insurance.

Intellectual Property Researcher:

This is a unique, highly specialized and intellectually stimulating position in a company which has pioneered intellectual property insurance for the past 21 years.  IP Researchers must have excellent research and organizational skills, be able to work in a team, and demonstrate an ability to analyze complex devices, software, business procedures and documents.  As an  IP Researcher, you will:

·         Interact with clients to gain a confident understanding of complex products, software and business practices.

·         Investigate facts and circumstances related to Patent, Trademark and Copyright litigation risk.

·         Collaborate with a team of Underwriters.

·         Generate reports and other communications relevant to the evaluation of an application for intellectual property insurance.

·         Perform other duties requiring the same general level of requirements.

Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

·         Experience in a technical field (engineering, scientific, software development, etc.), legal research, intellectual property or insurance.

·         Ability to gain a working technical understanding of complex devices, methods and software quickly and to conduct a search for relevant intellectual property.

·         Exceptional communication, analytical and human relations skills.
