Description:
Our client - a well known financial institution - is seeking a talented Interaction Designer to join their team!

Client's mobile channel seeks seeks a talented, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized Interaction Designer who has extensive design experience in the web space, along with at least 1-2 years experience in mobile.

As part of the larger Client Customer Experience team, you will be responsible for aligning their new and evolving mobile standards and guidelines with their e-commerce and transactional websites.

As a Design Lead, you will collaborate with Mobile Product and Project Managers to establish deliverable scope, software requirements, use cases, sitemaps, interaction flows, and wireframes. Your responsibilities will include shepherding the design process from concept through detailed implementation specifications, while translating user feedback into intuitive and functional customer experiences.

The candidate is expected to work both independently and as team member. You will not only have the ability to conceptualize and develop feature designs for our Mobile Web platform, Mobile applications (iPhone, Blackberry, Android, and Pre) and client Text Banking service, but also effectively communicate to a close-knit team that includes Design Manager, Content Strategist, Visual Designer, and Mobile Developers. These challenges require exceptional interpersonal skills, client management, creative problem-solving, and risk management.

Ideally, the candidate will be passionate about mobile and the opportunities it holds. This means having and using mobile sites and applications on a regular, if not daily, basis. The candidate will have knowledge of what differentiates the mobile web experience from the pc web experience, and be able to "mobilize" content and functionality appropriately. Understanding of the constraints posed by different handsets, carriers, and coding variances, including WebKit widgets, is a plus.

Requirements:

  • Interaction Design for Client Mobile product features.

  • Primary liaison for all design issues between customer experience, business stakeholders, and technologists.

  • Ownership of design process, briefs, timelines and resource estimation.

  • Banking or financial services background strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in HCI or equivalent experience with UCD methods including task analysis and user scenarios.

  • 5-7 years of experience with web application development, design planning, and/or strategic consulting

  • Understand the subjective nature of decision-making with internal clients

  • Solid skills in OmniGraffle, Photoshop/Fireworks, Dreamweaver.

  • Understanding of HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, and Webkit

  • Experience in IA as well as interaction design and information design

  • Experience with one or more mobile platforms and their style guides

  • A presentable portfolio at interview stage

    Portfolio requirements:

    Candidate should be prepared to show design samples and interim deliverables including but not limited to: design briefs, strategy recommendations, sitemaps, task flows, detailed wireframes, interaction flows, mockups, annotated screen specifications, etc.
