Interim Finance Director (Education Sector)
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded, responsible and proactive finance leader to join a well-known education institution as Finance Director. The role is being offered on a temporary basis but the College is happy to look at offering the successful applicant the role permanently should all parties wish to do so. This is a high profile position where the job will require an exceptional leader to manage the College’s programme of finance paying particular attention to year-end, audit and funding processes.
Reporting into the College’s Chief Executive, and in consultation with other members of the College's senior community, you will lead on the finance process whilst looking to promote efficiency, customer service, negotiate funding and deliver savings, making sure all processes at all times are compliant with regulator requirements. The ability to communicate complex financial ideas to non-finance personnel is of great importance.
Responsibilities of the successful candidate will include (but will not be limited to): managing and reporting on the year-end, budgeting and cash flow processes and leading on/negotiating funding on projects. This role will also sit on the Executive Board that is made up of 6 senior stakeholders. You will be expected to attend meetings when necessary and provide finance updates.
With a positive approach, the right candidate will be able to demonstrate strong financial leadership with a solid track record of leading, developing and implementing processes ideally from the Further Education sector (although most education institution backgrounds will be considered). The right person will be a Qualified Accountant and available immediately to interview.
