Interim General Hospital Manager

My client is part of a long-established and well-respected trust, and is currently seeking a Manager to work closely with the divisional director to deliver sustainable high quality clinical care. · Ability to oversee and interpret the performance targets of specialities and to manage complex and multi-faceted problems
· Highly developed problem solving and analytical skills, with experience of developing and implementing strategic plans

· Excellent communication skills and ability to influence decisions at all levels
· Experience of leading teams, recruiting, handling disciplinary issues coaching and motivating others to achieve organisational objectives
· Effective negotiating, influencing and networking skills
· Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders
· Ability to communicate, both written and verbally in a manner which is clear, fluent and persuasive
· Ability to deal with sensitive and complex issues

Knowledge, training and experience
· Management Degree or equivalent senior management experience for 3-5 years minimum
· Masters degree in health care studies or demonstrated ability to work at/be studying for Masters level
· Experience of leading service improvement projects and complex organisational change, whilst developing and maintaining high standards of quality
· Financial management and business management skills
· Evidence of appropriate relevant professional development

Other Requirements
· Satisfactory Occupational Health clearance
· Availability for occasional travel to other organisations to represent the trust

JOB PURPOSE:
To lead on, and be responsible for the development of strategies and business plans for the Division by ensuring that there are robust systems for performance management and quality governance in place. To ensure that the Division’s services are delivered to plan, within available resources and to the assured quality standards.

To be responsible for co-ordinating and promoting the integration of the operational management, service planning and service delivery processes of the Division, to achieve agreed service levels. To work with the Divisional leadership team to use available resources effectively, efficiently and within agreed budgets.

To lead on the Divisional transformation programme, by analysing opportunities for change to support the transformational agenda, and by engaging partners, patients and other stakeholders in all aspects of the change.

To provide leadership which enables the delivery of high quality, safe and person centred care through the engagement and empowerment of others.

To ensure the Division is managed under the regime of payment by results and the consultant contract.

The following is a list of core responsibilities to be completed by the job holder. Other duties may be assigned.

· To act in line with the Trust’s CARE values.
· To maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
· To actively participate in the staff appraisal process.
· To be familiar with relevant Operational, Personnel, Health and Safety.
· Policies and procedures, including Fire, COSHH, No Smoking and Alcohol, hand washing and effective infection control.
