Interim Group FD recruitment

A unique, sector leading specialist Insurance Group headquartered in the UK, is hiring for an Interim Group Finance Director.

Our client has instructed us to lead a search for an Interim Group FD to fulfil a 4-6 month contract. The incumbent will lead an international finance team and will in turn report directly into the Group CFO. The Group FD will have extensive interaction with the senior leadership team and will act as a Finance Partner to the various business units.

Key accountabilities include;

Driving financial performance of the business as a whole, ensuring profit targets are set and achieved across the Group. Ensure Business Units that fail to meet these targets are held to account and remedial actions are in place.

Establish a finance business partner model across the group to drive results within business areas niches through support and challenge. Benchmark the model against best practice.

Establish appropriate expense ratio targets by BU and area, and deploy a range of tools to ensure that these are met.

Ensure the integrity of group accounts and accounting policy report Group financial results in line with legal, stock market and regulatory requirements. Develop and maintain effective standards and controls so Group exposure to risk is managed effectively.

Provide vision, inspirational leadership, energy and motivation to the Finance community across the Group. Create a pro-active, driven, 'can-do' culture.

* Lead the Group's relationship with the credit rating agencies, to maintain/enhance the ratings given.

Represent the CFO and Directorate on wide range of topics and forums on behalf of the CFO.

To be considered for this fantastic opportunity, you will need to meet the following criteria. Please note there is very limited flexibility on these requirements.

Qualified Accountant with Insurance Sector experience
* Strong leadership skills, with demonstrable ability to lead, inspire, coach and develop both own direct reports and across a wider global team

*Track record of running and developing a best in class global Finance function

*Leadership of Group planning process (projections and budgets) and driving culture change to improve the setting and group-wide achievement of more stretching plans

*Demonstrates incisive commercial judgement, bringing commercial insight to decisions

*Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills

The role position is not based in London as the head office is based in the West of England. However the incumbent could potentially work from London 1 day per week as a maximum. Interested candidates should send their details in confidence to find out more information.
