JOB DESCRIPTION

DEPARTMENT:  Project and Program Management

JOB TITLE:  Project Manager
    

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working within the Project and Program Management department in Newedge, the main responsibilities of a Project Manager are as follows:

• Initiates and formalizes projects, including PDDs, UAT, etc.
• Ensures project scope meets business objectives considering the budget and schedule constraints of the project
• Understands and assumes responsibility for department's requirements
• Manages projects in terms of project planning, budgets, issues and risks, and escalates issues as appropriate
• Systematically communicates project updates to key stakeholders
• Facilitates project status meetings
• Acts as the day-to-day project liaison between business users and IT (developers)
• Manages UAT and ensures that business test plans are followed and signed off prior the live implementation
• Assist users to prepare and maintain the test scripts
• Assist user to validate the test results and report on irregularities
• Performs post go-live monitoring and analysis
• Facilitates training for project teams and Operations colleagues
• Analyzes and improves current department processes with guidance from Global Head
• Performs accuracy checks to ensure quality of BA work
• Reviews and vets weekly status reports created by BA and submits to PMO

ESSENTIAL SKILLS EXPERIENCE

• Some (2+) experience in resource management
• Past success in project management (4+ projects)
• Sound technical/systems knowledge with a good insight into the development process
• Significant experience using all Microsoft Office Applications (i.e: MS Project, Visual basic programming in Excel, Access, etc).
• Sound knowledge of Futures Options and back office
• Strong knowledge of the Stock market functions and associated processes (i.e. the life of a trade, expiry and settlement processes, etc)
• Knowledge of GMI
• Industry knowledge
• Knowledge of various in-house trading, confirmations, clearing software
• Broker reconciliation experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
