Our client is a global food and beverage manufacturer. The business has an ambitious growth strategy. To deliver this strategy an exciting innovation programme has been developed. This programme will bring to market great tasting functional beverages that are good for consumers. It will also develop and launch exciting new products with format driven convenience. This growth will come from areas beyond their current areas of strength and therefore the business has an urgent need to appoint an interim Project Engineer for a 6, or possibly 12-18 month, contract.

Their ideal candidate will be of graduate calibre gained within an Engineering discipline (ideally Chartered status) you will be a solid multi-skilled engineer with a demonstrable depth of people and project engineering management experience. You will have proven budgetary skills, an excellent record in delivering projects to performance requirements and benefits delivery, to time and cost. Your experience will have been gained in an FMCG environment and you will have a demonstrable record of engineering management projects (project and maintenance). You will have operated in a multi-site manufacturing environment and ideally you will have previously have held a Site Engineering Manager's position.

The role requires an individual with strong interpersonal skills capable of abstract thinking taking often ambiguous briefs and developing them into unambiguous definition. You will be self-motivated and will be expected to operate independently and interface with senior management across the business e.g. commercial, finance, operations, NPD, supply chain, logistics, etc.

You will have a thorough understanding of Project Management best practice and will be able to demonstrate a proven capability in this area, you will also have a good knowledge of maintenance strategy and its implementation.

The role will be based in the south of England for the main part but will involve travel within the UK and on occasions within Continental Europe.
