Intermediate Accountant – Statutory Reporting and Compliance

Position Description:

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
The primary objective of this role is to ensure the timely completion and lodgement of statutory financial reports, tax returns, and other reporting requirements for all the subsidiaries of SunGard in the Asia-Pacific region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and maintain a professional and effective relationship with statutory accounting, tax and legal advisors within the region.
• Preparation and lodgement of annual subsidiary statutory accounts
• Preparation of audit files and liaising with auditors
• Working with the Regional Tax Manager and external tax advisers on the preparation and lodgement of income tax returns
• Preparation and lodgement of GST/VAT returns and ensuring accounting process and reports are compliant to indirect tax rules for each jurisdiction
• Preparation of tax effect and tax provision journals
• Ad hoc reporting duties
• Provide support to the Regional Statutory Reporting Manager on various compliance projects
Position Requirements:
BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS ABILITIES:
• Must be a Registered Accountant (CPA or CA qualified) with 4 to 5 years work experience in statutory reporting within a corporate setting. Experience in the Big 4 will be viewed as an advantage, but not essential
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS, local accounting standards and tax rules in the Asia Pacific region
• Advanced spreadsheet skills
• Practical experience in accounting systems. Knowledge of SunSystems accounts will be an advantage.
