INTERMEDIATE ACCOUNTING CLERK
The City of Mason City, Iowa, is taking applications for the Civil Service Commission entrance examination for the position of Intermediate Accounting Clerk in the Finance Department.
The position assists in the preparation of financial reports, performs periodic financial studies and analyses, maintains accounts payable, assists in the processing of utility billings, assists in preliminary work towards completion of year-end reports, processes financial month end reports and completes check reconciliations for both payroll and payables. Assists in the operation and maintenance of the City's central financial computer system. Working knowledge of double-entry accounting theory and sound auditing practices are required as well as 10-key proficiency and varied computer software.
All applicants will need to participate in the Civil Service testing on one of the following dates: Tuesday, November 29th, 1:00pm or Wednesday, November 30th, 9:00am. This test will take place at the Mason City Public Library, 225 2nd St. SE. Salary is $16.05 per hour.
