Intermediate IT Business Consultant/Project Coordinator
Several years ago, Kaiser Permanente embarked on an ambitious project (KP HealthConnect) to implement Epic's electronic health record system (EHR) and operating platform that improved the quality of healthcare delivered to their members. Working in partnership with Epic, Kaiser Permanente has invested billions of dollars in the KP HealthConnect EHR system which enables clinical staff to access to relevant health care information; and optimizes scheduling, registration, billing and coding. Internet capability offers patients access to their medical information and the ability to send and receive secure messages to clinicians. As the implementations at all eight Kaiser Permanente regions were completed, CD BIO (Care Delivery Business Information Office) established several core groups were to help maintain and optimize the enterprise-wide EHR system. Working with leaders and members from KP HealthConnect IT across the enterprise, Information Management Group Systems Integration, and regional business leaders, this position supports the national KP HealthConnect IT group in preparing leadership meetings including Regional Care Delivery Leadership Team(RCDLT) and regular discussion sessions between Kaiser Permanente and Epic, following up with outcomes of the meetings, and providing updates and statuses to the stakeholders in a timely manner. This position is also to participate in other activities of Technical Services group including supporting Epic software releases, promoting KP HealthConnect optimization opportunities and supporting KP HealthConnect projects. Must be a team player, with strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Essential Functions: - Help and support meeting logistics of bi-weekly RCDLT meetings, monthly KP/Epic leadership calls with agenda preparation, meeting notes and action items summarization, and follow up communication. - Participate in planning and supporting Epic software releases, promoting KP HealthConnect optimization opportunities and delivering KP HealthConnect projects. - Investigates, documents, and analyzes IT requirements in projects, IT solutions support, and market research of the related areas. - Assesses scope and impact of client business needs to define a project. Works with partnering IT services to accomplish clients business needs. - Identifies and documents cross-functional and/or cross-divisional requirements, IT functional requirements, workflow, information sources and distribution paths, and system specifications - Develops simple business cases with cost service dimensions of proposed IT projects that are used at management and executive levels for funding and scope decisions. - Analyzes and defines efficient, cost effective IT solutions that support client business processes and functional requirements for simple IT projects. - Evaluates existing application products that could address client requirements and develops recommendations where appropriate. - Applies methodologies/standards to requirements analysis. - Performs risk analysis. - Develops and implements communication and escalation plans. - Supports the development of project plans. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or 4 years of equivalent work experience. - 2+ years of experience documenting functional requirements, analyzing business processes, and developing business cases to support IT solutions. - 1+ years of professional experience in healthcare or information technology organization. - Detail-oriented analytical thinking, problem solving, and results-oriented skills - Ability to take self initiative - Ability to manage multiple and competing tasks - Ability to work effectively as a team player and work with people of all backgrounds and at all levels - Ability to work with and establish relationships with virtual national and regional team members - Strong MS office suite skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project - Strong communication and organizational skills - Willing to travel up to 10% of time Preferred Qualifications: - Healthcare organization or IT organization operational experience - Virtual work environment experience - Process improvement experience - Meeting facilitation skills
