Our client, an ISO 9001:2000 accredited designer/ manufacturer/ service of automated material handling equipment utilizes LEAN based principles as a core business methodology is looking for a mechanical designer to join their team.

Overview

The detail-oriented candidate will analyze, conceptualize and develop servo pneumatic based packaging machines and assemblies, based on an extensive knowledge base and where necessary, innovate new automation solutions.   Highly detail oriented self-starter.  Strong team player and individual contributor.  Ability to design for manufacturability in a custom machinery project environment, work to specs and deadlines.

Here is What You Will Be Doing

×          Interpret technical specifications application parameters;

×          Analysis solution to various mechanical problems;

×          Conceptualize designs, problem-solve, participate in product development team;

×          Select cost effective OEM components;

×          Create full design packages inc BOM, detail drawings, assembly drawings and layouts;

×          Check validate all final design documentation, parts lists and drawings according to design contract requirements, to ensure completeness accuracy;

×          Interact with Purchasing Production, in office and on production floor as needed; Proven ability to skilfully manage time and commitments

 

Are you Qualified?

·         Superior analytical and communication skills (written verbal).

·         Minimum of 5 years of mechanical design in machinery or automation.

Experience in automation servo controls is an asset

Computer skills (minimum):

§         High proficiency in AutoCAD 2D

§         Solid Works

§         Any BOM, PDM or ERP system experience

§         Microsoft Office applications

Knowledge of Design for Manufacture LEAN principles is preferred

 

Academic:             Technologist, or Engineer (mechanical with PLC/servo proficiency preferred)
