Kaiser Permanente Intermediate Project Manager / Project Coordinator Burbank or Oakland, CA Kaiser Permanente is looking for an Intermediate Project Manager / Project Coordinator in Burbank or Oakland. This role will be responsible for leading projects to fulfill one or more program goals of moderate scope. In many cases, this personwill work under the supervision of a senior project manager. Essential Functions: - Initiate, plan, execute, and transition projects. - Interface with clients, stakeholders, team members to gather requirements, develop project plans, determine resource requirements, manage project and organizational change, report status, and transition completed projects to client operations teams. - Produce project deliverables, and provide analytical and project support to the senior project manager. - Provide leadership to a team committed to achieving specified goals of a project. - Provide high quality and cost effective project management, analytic support services and technical expertise for a broad array of issues. - Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. - Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. - Lead and provide technical leadership to projects. - Interface with internal and external clients to define project scope and requirements. - Define and develop project plan and resource requirements. - Manage project team, activities, and deliverables. - Assess risks and develop mitigation plans. - Manage change control process. - Manage risks, action items, issues, and decisions. - Analyze data and develop recommendations and action plans. - Conduct and facilitate meetings with team members, clients, stakeholders, and executives. - Produce deliverables for project team, clients, stakeholders, and executives. - Establish and maintain project team performance expectations. - Coach, guide, and develop team members. - Sets strategic direction of projects. - Develops project plans which identify key issues, problems, approaches, performance metrics and resources required. - Designs processes to address identified problems. - Establishes team membership and negotiates time commitments and resource allocation. - Provides staff leadership to multi-disciplinary teams. - Provides guidance to team on performance and productivity issues. - Designs research plans for data gathering and analysis. - Actively participates or may lead in analyzing data and developing recommendations and action plans. - Accountable for the development of project documentation for senior executives and other key clients to facilitate sharing of project outcomes and best practices. - Plans and facilitates meetings. - Makes formal presentations to various senior level audiences. - May include developing training program for different levels of audiences. - Up to 25% travel. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - One year exposure to Project Management or one year as a member of a Project Management team - Understands all project life cycle phases and applies knowledge in the delivery of at least one phase of the project delivery life cycle - Understands use of change management process - resources, schedule, scope - for assigned project (size and complexity - see above) - 4-year degree in related field or 4 additional years of equivalent experience - Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
