Essential Functions: The IPM Project Manager Intermediate must be a results oriented self starter who can effectively navigate a large organization. The individual will be accountable for managing complex projects or multiple moderately complex projects. Successful candidates will have a proven track record delivering projects through disciplined project management processes and close collaboration with colleagues. Other duties include: Implement project framework in conjunction with the KP project management methodology (including status reporting and metrics) Develop and manage project plans which include risk analysis and mitigation plans Ensure project issues are tracked, managed and resolved Develop and implement a project communication plan Ensure cross-track dependencies are identified and managed Implement change management mechanism to effectively manage project scope Coordinate with other project managers to identify cross-project dependencies and leverage best practices Coordinate activities of service providers, vendors and subject matter experts as required Produce regular project status reporting for internal review and project stakeholders Establish and sustain strong ongoing relationships with IPM program delivery managers, IMG Business Relationship Managers and other constituents - Manages simple individual projects including a sub-project within a program. - Total managed project budge up to $1 million. - Project complexity includes 1 site and 1 work track. - Accountable for the success criteria, development, publication and updating of project deliverables. - With support, develops and executes user adoption, implementation and training plans. - Manages project close-out activities. - Contributes to the technical documentation as detailed under Project Integration Management. - Create, manage, and coordinate receipt of all KP-required technical documentation. - Applies knowledge of change management process - resources, schedule, scope - for assigned project. - Manages the tracking of interdependencies (start to finish relationships) within the project. - Contributes to the accuracy of IT components of the business case. - With support, negotiates agreement on project schedule and budgets. - Prepares project forecast for resources/labor hours and translates into financial forecast. - Manages to project budget and proactively communicates project cost variances and provides variance explanations. - Supports quality assurance reviews and quality control monitoring efforts. - May determine resource requirements and procure resources. - Works with project team to review progress against team and project objectives. - Responsible for documenting and organizing project deliverables, scope and content, including all decisions. - Participates in identifying risks, developing risk management plan, developing risk response plans, and risk monitoring and control. - Understands and adheres to Kaiser Permanente policies for procuring and purchasing hardware, software, telecom, or human services. - Understands contract approval process and reflects timeline in project plans. - Understands all project delivery life cycle phases and applies knowledge in the delivery of at least one phase of the project delivery life cycle. Establishes the project environment. - Assists in the coordination ofcollection and validation of business requirements and their success criteria with business partners. - Delivers a project based on its function, e.g., development, infrastructure, etc. - Engages with release managers and informs managers of potential scheduling conflicts. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - 2 years of related experience that includes managing implementations of I.T infrastructure projects (specifically cabling, network voice/data and PC deployments) - Experience in client relationship management - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree. Preferred Qualifications: - Healthcare industry knowledge preferred - Experience managing projects with I.T. budgets up to $1 million and total project budgets up to $10 million. Project teams up to 15 people, spanning multiple locations and up to 5 interdependent work tracks. - Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to articulate business requirements and technology options. - Solid planning, coordination and project management skills - Prior project management experience with infrastructure deployment projects - Experience with all phases of the project delivery lifecycle - Know or learn KP-IT's project and process methodology and to execute it within the established KP and KP-IT organizational framework and oversight processes. - Skilled in MS Office Productivity Tools and MS Project - Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM) from the Project Management Institute or PMP certification. - Proficient in RPM for time reporting, scheduling, and project management. - Understands Remedy to review release schedules. - Understands Ariba to procure goods and services. - Understands Cognos for financial processes. - Understands Borland suite for requirements, testing, and document management.
