Steel Business Briefing Ltd (SBB) was formed in London in 2001 by a small group of steel professionals. On 1 July 2011 Steel Business Briefing Group, including sister companies
SBB is looking for an intern for a period of three months, ideally starting from the beginning of June 2012. The intern will be based in our Canary Wharf office in London.
The intern assists the rest of the team with the preparation of two publications, namely World Steel Review and Global Market Outlook. He/she also helps with collecting client information and updating databases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with selecting news stories, snippets and data for preparation of World Steel Review, a weekly e-publication of steel market intelligence.
- Assist with research for market price analysis for Global Market Outlook, a monthly e-publication covering forecasts for steel markets and products.
- Assist the London Editorial team with researching and updating information such as new plants facilities and databasing in Excel.
- Assist with special editorial team projects as needed.
Skills
- Degree in journalism or a related field or degree in Economics or Business
- Grounding in the fundamentals of research, reporting and/or economics
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficient mathematics
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with Excel
- Familiarity with Powerpoint
- Familiarity with Publisher an advantage but full training will be provided
