Intern - Energy Engineering (Food Group - Grand Forks, ND)

We currently have an Energy Engineering Internship position open at our Food Processing Plant in Grand Forks, ND. Job Summary This position will contribute to the facility's energy efficiency, profits, growth and environmental compliance, by providing assistance with various capital improvement projects. Engineering knowledge and principles will be applied to assist in the implementation of various projects within the plant. The duration of this internship will last from 3 to 9 months beginning in May 2012 with the option of staying on the project longer if needed. Compensation is $15-18 per hour. This position does not offer housing or relocation benefits. Essential Functions - Sub-project management surrounding new capital installations. This includes but is not limited to high pressure steam systems, ammonia refrigeration systems, and building envelope upgrades. - Assist Construction Manager in gathering data, performing cost and related financial payback analysis, implementing projects, and perform post implantation audits. - Time management and scheduling tracking for efficient project completion. - Development of communication skills, written and verbal. Requirements - Currently enrolled in an Academic Engineering program from a nationally accredited educational facility/university. Must be a sophomore or above in a discipline of Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering and will return to school at the completion of the internship. - Candidate must be willing to learn process operation and work in an industrial setting.
