The Playtex strategic business unit, which is a division of Energizer Personal Care, is a leading manufacturer and distributor of a diverse portfolio of consumer and personal products. Playtex is focused on Feminine Care products, including Gentle Glide and Sport tampons; Infant Care products, including spill-proof cups, baby bottles, pacifiers, and Diaper Genie; Sun Care products, including Banana Boat, Hawaiian Tropic, and Alpha to Omega brands; and Skin Care products, including Wet Ones and Gloves.
Primary Purpose of this position
This position will support the RD Senior Scientist/ Scientist on projects that are a high priority during the period of the assignment.
Functions
1. Execute and summarize tests in the lab to develop detailed understanding of current products.
2. Characterize materials (non-woven or similar) using a well-equipped modern lab. Develop new test methods with guidance from supervisor.
3. Support consumer studies of new products and deployment of new analytical tools.
4. Search and analyze information internally or externally to solve product challenges creatively while building team?s knowledge base.
5. Work with other functions to build physical prototypes for testing. Support simulation efforts as needed.
6. Present interim and final summary of the project work to management.
Education
? Enrollment in a bachelor degree program : Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering (including polymers or non-wovens), Physics, Biomedical Engineering.
? Completion of Junior year.
? Good problem solving skills. Major and overall GPA of 3.0.
? Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
? Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a variety of functions / people.
? Demonstrated initiative capability.
? Demonstrated leadership skills through involvement in extracurricular or community activities
? Willingness to work in a lab setting.
? Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel and any lab software.
