Intern Project Engineer III

The Developer Division is looking for a talented International Project Engineer (IPE) who can help us deliver a highly quality localized products into our international markets. The primarily role is to design localization optimization of our current system, technical improvement in tools and engineering practices in alignment with other Microsoft localization teams. This will require to tightly work with the rest of the team and the Microsoft localization community to help us drive forward localization requirements and design optimized processes to keep the entire localization model agile and cost effective. You core responsibilities will be: Drive the localization piloting of Visual Studio and other developer tools; Drive localization workflow improvement to be executed by external vendors. Optimize software localization recycling process Work with tools team to spec automation and tools Partner with other Microsoft localization group to design and leverage existing localization tools and solutions Work with the rest of the international team (including IPEs, IPMs, UE, and Intl QA), as well as with the Business Manager, on collecting project data and defining project metrics; Manage external vendors in delivering engineering and localization deliverables; Help design practices to support our open community localization platform and model; Experience/qualifications: 4+ years of experience in localization/project management; Strong project management skills; Strong knowledge of localizability concepts and best practices; Strong knowledge of localization engineering processes; Experience localizing software products into one or more target languages; Familiar with the localization process and/or tools (such as no-compile localization tools); Strong written and verbal communication skills in English required and knowledge of other languages preferred; Independent, self-motivated, and able to work under tight deadlines; Strong technical background; a degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field preferred.
