Ability to Obtain Interim and/or Final Clearances (Post Start) - US Citizenship Required about security clearance definitions Position Description Boeing Research and Technology is looking for well-rounded, highly motivated, highly performing select individuals to help shape the growth of one of the world's largest aerospace companies. We are interested in hiring 2012 Summer Intern Research Students to assist our engineering staff in analyzing complex system requirements and performing trade studies in the field of Systems Engineering. These full-time, paid internships enable you to gain hands-on experience while contributing to exciting programs, helping us meet customer needs, and learning from experienced professionals. Our research interns will have an opportunity to apply interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop a plan to utilize existing researcher in innovative ways to solve key problems. Interns may also evaluate customer/operational needs to define needs and spend time researching alternative solutions. Interns must be able to clearly communicate the value proposition of proposed solutions, as well as differentiate proposed solutions to recommend a solution or alternatives. Competencies Technical skills, communication skills, leadership experience, ability to work well with others, problem solving abilities, and analytical skills. The technical skills required are wide-ranging, therefore mathematics, computer science, and engineering students will be considered. Basic Qualifications For Consideration Have you been accepted or are you enrolled in a M.S. or Ph.D. engineering or post doctorate program at a university which has active Boeing research projects? Typical Education/Experience High school diploma or GED. Other Job related information Candidates must have a degree from a top engineering school with a demonstrated record of research. In additions, interns must be accepted or enrolled in a Masters of Science (M.S.) or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) engineering or post doctorate program at a university which has active Boeing research projects. Preferred education: BS degree in Engineering or Science.
