INTERNAL AUDIT, AVP / VP recruitment

Our client is a global asset management with an extensive international presence. To cope with their business expansion, they are seeking a professional to join them.

Review systems and operations to assess the extent to which organizational objectives are achieved, and the adequacy of controls over activities leading to such achievement. Evaluate the relevance, reliability and integrity of management and financial information. Appraise utilization of resources with regard to economy, efficiency and effectiveness. Ascertain the adequacy of controls for safeguarding company’s assets. Evaluate sufficiency of adherence to plans, policies, and procedures and compliance with regulatory laws and regulations. Recommend improvements in procedures and systems to prevent waste, extravagance and fraud. Advise on appropriate systems of controls and other accounting and operational matters in a consulting capacity. Develop an annual Audit Plan using appropriate audit methodology (such as risk-based and continuous auditing approaches), including any risks or control concerns identified by management and submit the audit plan to the Audit Committee for review and approval. Assist and coordinate the activities with the company’s regional and external auditors in order to eliminate duplication of effort and ensure proper coverage. Report to the Audit Committee and Management summarizing results of audit activities periodically. Inform the Audit Committee of emerging trends and successful practices in internal auditing, as necessary. Adhere to the quality assurance program developed to ensure the audit process and quality of internal auditing activities meet the standards and statutory requirements. Ensure the planned audit projects can be completed as scheduled and within budget. Follow up the open issues and status of remediation plan with the responsible process owners and business units.

To qualify for the position, you should possess a University degree plus a recognized accounting (CA, CPA, CMA, CGA) and/or auditing (CIA. CISA) designation with at least 8 years relevant experience. Excellent knowledge of audit methodologies, project management and system development methodologies, control frameworks and risk management practices, and regulatory requirements (SFC, OSFI, etc.). Sound working knowledge of assets management including investment operations and wealth management business. Sound communications skills. Excellent customer focus and commitment to quality. Ability to develop and carry out plans to deliver quality results on time and within budget. Results oriented; ability to balance multiple priorities and projects. Proven relationship skills including a demonstrated ability to deal effectively with staff at all levels to division stakeholders and business unit management. Leadership skills in achieving departmental, project and individual objectives, and in developing staff.
