Internal Audit Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION:
My client is a large mortgage provider with location throughout the US. The business has grown considerably over the past 10 years and is now one of the leading suppliers in the market. The Capital Markets Audit team is currently seeking an Internal Audit Manager who will assist with the mission of the Internal Audit Division to provide independent, objective, assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve operations. The Capital Markets team audits a variety of areas including: securities trading desks, middle and back office functions, enterprise risk management, counterparty and credit risk management,
and valuation of complex financial instruments. As a member of the management team, the hired candidate will be responsible for administrative tasks, including resource allocation and scheduling, management and audit committee reporting, and assisting with the annual planning process.
Responsibilities Include:
- Lead multiple audit projects simultaneously, including audits, follow ups, and pre-implementation reviews and be the primary person responsible for overseeing
the more junior members of the audit team, reviewing work papers, and
communicating issues with the auditee
- Coach and mentor more junior level staff
- May be required to work on internal investigations and other ad hoc requests,
as needed Minimum of 8 years of experience, including 6+ years
of previous experience in public accounting or internal audit; other relevant
experience may be considered
- Demonstrates proficiency in audit methodology and risk/controls assessments
- Experience auditing financial institutions
- Experience conducting audits in some or all of the following areas:
- Derivatives, Counterparty Credit, Market Risk Management, Front, Middle and
Back office Operations, and Valuations of financial products. Having a good
understanding of the general concepts in at least some of these areas is
critical
QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires CIA or CPA certification
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
