Internal Audit Supervisor (Quality)
The internal audit supervisor works across functions to perform evaluations of the production processes and the function of the quality system and facilitate appropriate corrective and preventive actions. This person will help to develop and foster a culture of defect prevention and contribute to continual improvement within all areas of Fres-co.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Lead Quality System Technician Team
?Manage performance of employees
?Develop auditing skills of technicians
Manage the Internal Auditing Program
?Design and develop the internal audit program and calendar on an annual basis based on feedback from Operations and Executive Leadership teams
?Develop the content/checklists for the audits performed
?Ensure audits are completed in a timely manner
?Report the functioning and findings of the internal audit process to identify trends and areas for improvement
?Oversee the resolution of audit findings
?Assign/perform verification activities
?Follow up to ensure that audits are closed and corrective actions were effective
?Develop a pool of trained internal quality auditors and oversee activities of the Internal Auditors
oMonitor the progress of assigned audits and take corrective action if the schedule is not being met
oInterface with auditors and Quality Assurance Manager to resolve critical issues
oEnsure that findings are clearly documented
oParticipate in reviews of auditor qualifications with the Quality Assurance Manager
oPerforming various audit procedures
?Develop and conduct "continuing education" training for audit teams
Manage the GMP Inspection Program for the Production Areas
?Ensure internal inspection program is in compliance for initial and follow up inspections
?Track and verify corrective action responses
?Develop and conduct training for plant personnel
?Manage the plant's Integrated Pest Management program
Participate in Continous Improvement Activities
?Identify trends/provide data to focus continuous improvement efforts
?Train employees on topics relating to Continuous Improvement
?Develop system to share best practices identified during auditing
Support Supplier Quality
?Perform supplier audits
?Support activities for supplier relationships (corrective acion improvement plans, scorecard data collection)
Other duties as required
?Perform audits as needed
Skill/Knowledge:
?Knowledgeable of business processes and accompanying quality system requirements (i.e. receiving, material flow/purchasing, shipping) including the use of ERP software
?Familiarity with quality system standards and best practices within a structured quality system (ISO, AIB, GFSI)
?Technical knowledge in manufacturing processes (e.g., blown film extrusion, rotogravure printing, flexographic printing, injection molding, winding)
?Knowledge of Lean Enterprise and other continuous improvement methodolgies inlcuding process control methods
?Excellent oral written communication skills
?Experience in using high performance teaming methods
?Positive interpersonal relationship skills and ability to work with people who have a wide range of functional knowledge and experience
?Proficient in software packags:MS Office, Outlook, Minitab
Experience/Education:
High School Diploma
Supervisory Experience Required
Certified Quality Auditor ? preferred
5-7 years experience in quality role (ISO experience preferred)
