Job Description
- Promotion and embedment of an internal audit culture across the business activities of the branch
- Influencing, managing and advising employees on the importance and relevance of internal audit recommendations and their follow up within the branch.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with relevant heads of department and all staff
- Independently reviewing current branch frameworks, policies, procedures and management processes, to ensure that these are consistent with local prudential requirements
- Undertaking periodic IA gap analysis checks, identifying areas for improvement, implementing improvements whilst communicating these developments to all staff
- Allocating ownership of appropriate prudential standards, rules and guidelines to relevant department heads and staff and via periodic formal audit reviews and regular gap analysis checks, monitor their compliance thereof
- Embedment of IA recommendations and findings within the branch
- Liaising with Head Office Internal Audit Bureau and assisting HO inspection visits
- Participating in Risk Committee (RC) meetings and providing feedback pertaining to audits
- Liaising with local regulators such as APRA, regarding audit program and findings
The Successful Applicant
- CA / CPA qualified
- Experience of the Finance industry exposure to International Banks would be viewed as favourable
- Local knowledge of Australian compliance is essential
- Currently working as a Financial Auditor
- Knowledge of emerging business, economic, and market trends
- Strong technical skills and keen to broaden knowledge
- Evidence of strong project management and working with competing deadlines
- Can build trusting, long-term relationships with clients
- Strong team player
- Communicates what is relevant and important in a clear and concise manner
- Innovative approach to tasks
- Ability to influence stakeholders
