POSITION OVERVIEW
As MSCI continues to grow, there is a need to build a culture in which two-way communication becomes integral to the way we work - with the aim of getting as many employees as possible informed, involved and engaged and increasing the quantity, quality, consistency and regularity of our internal communications. Reporting to the Global Head of Talent Management, the Internal Communications Leader will be responsible for developing and maintaining an internal communications strategy and action plan that identifies MSCI’s strategic messages and develops effective ways to deliver those messages to employees. This individual will also be responsible for helping to drive employee engagement across all levels of the firm – so that every employee feels connected with, and part of, MSCI.
The individual will be expected to develop and use best-practice forms of communication, including emails, newsletters, training programs, websites/intranets, social media and employee forums. The Internal Communications Leader will collaborate extensively with the CEO and members of the Executive Committee, advising them on the best ways to communicate information to our employees. The Internal Communications Leader will also coordinate closely with Head of Marketing Communications and Investor Relations.

In this role you will help keep employees across the various businesses within MSCI engaged and informed at the highest possible level.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Review current internal communication practices and work closely with the Global Head of Talent Management to develop a full strategic plan, that promotes two-way communication channels across the firm and increases employee engagement at all levels
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and members of the Executive Committee to develop and write key messages and speeches related to the Firm’s mission, strategy and culture
- Identify and implement innovative and relevant cross-functional communication channels to maximize synergies which exist across the global organization
- Work closely with key business units and Office Heads across the firm to devise appropriate internal communications to support their activities and align global and local messages
- Manage the development and implementation of an MSCI intranet and appropriate employee feedback channels
- Support any corporate disaster recovery (DR) situations with an internal crisis communications plan
- Develop and maintain appropriate internal communications practices to ensure consistency
- Plan and coordinate regular global and local town halls
- Monitor and evaluate the ongoing the effectiveness of the firm’s internal communications, making appropriate improvements and recommendations
- Review different employee segments/audiences and consider alternative communication strategies
- Coach senior leaders on an individual basis in delivering key messages
- Collaborate closely with Head of Marketing Communications and Investor Relations to ensure alignment of internal and external messaging
- Partner with Global Recruitment to develop and implement a compelling employee brand for MSCI which increases our ability to attract high quality talent to the firm
DESIRED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working closely with CEO and Executive Committee level management and able to manage those relationships with skill and diplomacy
- Experience in transforming or creating an internal communications program globally, preferably within a financial organization
- Proficiency and experience in using online communications channels such as intranets and social media
- Strong people skills and the ability to communicate with employees at all levels in the organization, and across multiple time zones and cultures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including fluent English
- Expertise in writing internal communications including gathering and editing content from a variety of sources and executive speech writing
- Confident self starter with proven leadership qualities
- Strong passion for internal communications and ability to operate on a strategic and tactical level
- A dynamic, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and results-driven individual who is comfortable speaking in large groups representing different levels within the organization
- Track record of high-performance partnerships and customer focus, with demonstrable skills in managing multiple stakeholders across a globally distributed matrixed organization
- BA in related field or business. Masters in Communications, Marketing or related discipline a plus
- Experience in the financial service industry a plus
- Ability to travel approximately 25%
