Internal Communications Trainee recruitment
As part of the Global SG CIB Communications team, the mission of the Internal Communications Trainee is to help promote and support the communication of the SG CIB business strategy to all staff.
Main Responsibilities
Internal/Corporate Communications
- Management of the content of the UK pages of INSITE under the supervision and guidance of the UK Head of Internal Communications. This includes responsibility for monitoring other UK intranets and related internal sites, writing articles, developing pages, updating information, suggesting improvements, graphics management, etc. Employee would be required to work closely with the Paris office in this area.
- Responsible for writing articles and finding creative ideas to increase visibility of the UK business in a variety of publications including the Weekly (Business) Staff Online Newsletters.
- Taking an active (and proactive) role in the Communications support given to the Corporate Responsibility initiative in the UK.
- Support the UK Head of Internal Communications in regular information distribution and administration of a variety of staff networks and benefits.
- Assist senior management in the creation of introductory speeches and presentations that effectively communicate the SG CIB core values, business strategy and mission statements.
- Work closely with Human Resources to ensure the correct messages are communicated to new employees in the induction process.
- Work closely with other business lines to communicate messages they would like circulated bank wide.
- Required to take a proactive role in planning, co-ordinating and organising internal staff events.
- Create and conduct surveys to measure opinion, reaction and progress and then deliver this feedback back to the relevant departments.

Education
- Degree level at least
- Further communication qualification preferred
Past Experience
- Some experience in communications/marketing/events environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated aptitude for writing and investigating is needed – journalistic skills are good, motivational writing skills essential.
- Some degree of project management experience is a definite plus.
- Experience of working with senior executives.
- Experience co-ordinating events.
- Intranet experience essential and will be a large portion of the job relating to intranet development and improvement.
- Experience with strategic planning preferred.
Languages
- Fluent English language skills, written skills are especially important
- French language proficiency is preferred
Technical Skills
- At ease working with standard PC packages: Word, Excel, PowerPoint applications.
- Web proficiency is essential
- Happy to work with standard imaging applications: Photoshop/Microsoft Picture Manager.
