Internal IT Support Specialist
ACCOUNTABILITIES
·
Support Securitas computer hardware, software and peripherals. Provides skilled technical assistance in trouble-shooting problems and maintaining systems.
·
Respond to tickets from the Helpdesk for the Operating Centers and Branches.
·
Assists users with technical issues via telephone, e-mail, or in person.
·
Maintain network to insure proper functionality and availability.
·
Hardware, software and peripheral installations.
·
Ensure software licenses are in compliance.
·
Evaluate and test new hardware and software and make purchase recommendations.
·
Coordinates activities with Manager, technical staff, users, and vendors, which include service requests and trouble-tickets.
·
Provides written and verbal status of projects to all involved parties.
·
Perform network administration duties as needed.
·
Other activities as directed by management.
·
Ability to analyze complex information and develop recommendations and solutions.
·
Ability to be an effective team member and also play a leadership role in projects.
·
Knowledge of standard office procedures and practices.
·
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
·
Demonstrated proficiency in office productivity software including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications.
·
Excellent planning, organization and time management skills.
·
Ability to carry out multiple assignments concurrently.
·
Ability to be an effective team member and handle project assignments responsibly.
·
Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization.
·
Courteous telephone manner.
·
Strong customer service and results orientation.
·
Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
·
Periodic travel may be required intermittently.
·
Must be available for after hours support approximately 1 out of every 4 weeks (24 x 7).
·
Must be available to work after hours during I.T. maintenance windows, usually Wednesday nights.
·
Other duties as assigned.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
·
Excellent understanding of PC hardware and software
·
In depth knowledge of Windows XP and Windows 7.
·
Experience with PGP Encryption technologies a big plus
·
Experience with standard software applications such as McAfee, Visio, MS Project, MS Office.
·
Familiarity with general networking concepts.
·
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
·
Must be able to document problem resolutions within trouble tickets and maintain written documentation.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
·
High School diploma, college or technical program graduate and a minimum of 3-5 years experience.
·
MCDST certification required.
