Job Description Job Classification: Direct Hire Aerotek has an immediate opening for an Internal Payroll Specialist at the corporate office in Hanover, MD. Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Specialist is the liaison between Field Support and payroll law. A Payroll Specialist's responsibility is to perform customer service and payroll functions for internal and external employees. Payroll Specialists review payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with payroll policies and procedures. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Validate the integrity of the data entered into People Soft. 2. Review/ edit reports from People Soft (wage, tax, general data). 3. Resolve discrepancies on employee's wages and taxes. 4. First resource for clarifying payroll tax questions. 5. Run On/Off cycle payroll process. 6. Research resolve bank related issues. 7. Process requests for off cycle checks. 8. Process stop payments and voids 9. Validate outstanding checks for abandoned property 10. Troubleshoot various payroll questions coming from QA and the field Required Education and/or Experience: - 2+ years of Payroll Experience preferred but not required - Good interpersonal skills with ability to work in team environment - Strong customer service skills Requisite Abilities and/or Skills: - Strong organizational skills - Strong problem solving capabilities - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Adaptable and able to handle multiple tasks concurrently - Computer skills: People Soft, Word, Excel, and Netscape Aerotek is a leading provider of technical, professional and industrial recruiting and staffing services.
