Internal Wholesaler for Chicago fund. ASAP start recruitment

The Company

 My client is a fund based in Chicago managing just under $500Mn. Established over ten years ago, they have a solid track record trading a variety of futures strategies. They will be introducing 2 new mutual funds in Q3 of this year based on the current strong strategies being run

The Role

 As such they are looking to take on an Internal Wholesaler to work directly alongside the Director of Sales to formulate and execute a business plan to promote the fund and increase and maintain assets under management. The ideal candidate will understand the mutual fund marketplace, and will already have developed a broad network of relationships and have a strong established track record selling mutual fund products through Registered Investment Advisors (RIA), Broker/Dealers (BD) and wire house channels.


Responsibilities

• Make outbound marketing calls to the RIA and broker dealer communities to market and sell firm products, convey sales ideas, provide product information, gather marketing data, arrange meetings, as well as network with current and potential brokers and clients.

• Develop initiatives with external wholesalers to establish potential clients

• Establish credibility and build rapport with clients

• Cultivate relationships with financial representatives via phone contact and email

• Maintain files, accounts and logs, and other reports as necessary

• Consult with financial advisors and brokers to understand needs and cross sell products as appropriate

• Manage email campaigns

• Periodically participate in client meeting and seminars

• Utilize extensive industry knowledge and experience to achieve and surpass established sales goals

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Marketing, Communications and/or related field from a well-regarded university

• Investment mutual fund product sales experience, working with the RIA and broker dealer communities to have established relationships

•Series 6 or 7 license

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Strong work ethic and a team player

• A high level of professionalism and diligence

• Detail and task-oriented

• Advanced MS Office, Adobe and CRM (i.e. SalesForce) product skills

• Desire to transition to an external sales role after proved successful years in internal role

Compensation

Compensation will be structured as a competitive base + bonus.

The role also offers rapid growth within the organization for a motivated and successful candidate.

This position would be ideal for someone who has proved their success but is not seeing their career advance as rapidly as they would like. This position offers the opertunity to work alongside a more senior individual, whilst also giving the successful candidate room to work autonomously as well as a clear route of career progression.
