Position Summary
An International Educational Consultant (IEC) will be responsible for a geographical territory in which he/she will develop relationships with local schools, companies, non-profit organizations and individuals with the purpose of generating quality student interests that will lead to direct enrollments/starts within their respective geographical territory. Additionally, the Educational Consultant will be responsbile for enrolling quality students from leads received by the Marketing team.
•This job description only applies to employees engaged in the recruitment of foreign students residing in foreign countries who are not eligible to receive Federal student assistance.
Key Job Responsibilities
Achieve performance standards set by VP, International
Work independently, build strong academic relationships with institutions to drive quality enrollments within Consultants assigned territory.
Provide market research and advertising proposals to the International marketing team in support of their martkets
Develop relationships with local companies and/or organizations in allowing the Educational Consutlant providing information about Kaplan University Programs to be presented to their staff and members
Ensure adequate knowledge of programs offered, and take responsibility for keeping current with program changes and new programs offered. Especially in regards to programmatic areas of interest for the assigned markets
Service leads assigned by Admissions management Provide accurate reports relating to plans and progress relating the assigned territory
Make certain prospective students have realistic expectations regarding his/her course of study by adhering strictly to established standards for International Admissions
Attend and participate in all meetings for which attendance is requested.
Make recommendations to the International team regarding course offerings or operational issues in the interest of enhancing the Admissions Process.
Ensure that adequate, accurate, and timely student records are created during the Admissions Process and are forwarded to other
Convey only accurate, independently verifiable information in the proper context to enable prospective student to make a well-informed enrollment decision. Follow all Standard Operating Procedures, polices and work rules Assist other members of the Admissions Department in routine and occasional activities as defined by your supervisor
Attend required training sessions
Perform other duties as assigned by the Admissions Management Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (B.A./B.S.)
Four to seven years experience and/or training Sales experience preferred, commission based or inside sales perferably of intangible products or services
Must be able to travel approximately 20%
Ability to develop a target marketing plan
Excellent communications skill - written and verbal to include devloping and delivering presentations.
Ability to communicate accurately and positively by telephone, e-mail, and other media to students and internal customers Ability to follow processes, work effectively on a team, and maintain a positive attitude Effective organizational and planning skills, including proven success withevent planning and coordination Desire to succeed in a quota driven environment Flexibility and availability. Some travel will be required Multi-cultural experience required
