We are looking for a dynamic individual to play a central role in the execution of localization projects for the next release of Windows into 100+ languages. This role will provide first-hand experience into how new languages are brought on board to support an expanding, worldwide market place, and offers an opportunity to develop a long-term career at Microsoft in a team that values aptitude for learning and growth in its employees. This position requires solid project management skills and a demonstrated understanding of localization concepts, tools and software engineering practices. The candidate is expected to have excellent problem solving, technical and communication skills while building strong cross-group and cross-discipline relationships. Responsibilities: ? Contribute to high-quality software localization for the Windows family of products by providing end-to-end project management support for these products ? Effectively manage the day-to-day operational aspects of outsourced localization projects and as well as project reporting and scope and risk management ? Create and maintain successful working relationships with internal stakeholders in the product teams, localization engineering, vendor management, tools infrastructure, test, release management, globalization and other worldwide teams ? Contribute to the evaluation of specs, tools, and processes that are being used and considered for use within Microsoft ? Develop and implement innovative best practices for localization Requirements: ? College degree required; BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field preferred ? Experience in technology project/vendor management/release management a plus ? Good foundation in Project Management theory and concepts; relevant certifications (PMP, MBA) welcome ? Understanding of localization tools processes ? Advanced user of MS Project and Office applications ? Demonstrated passion for foreign languages and the global marketplace ? Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) ? Good organizational skills and detail oriented ? Ability to deal with ambiguity ? Self-starter with drive towards excellence W:WE
