International Sourcing Manager - Soft Goods

It s headquartered in Anoka, MN and employs approximately 4,300 people in 16 locations. Our Accessories Division is seeking a Sourcing Manager International - Soft Goods to add to our team. This position will be located in Anoka, MN and report to the Director, Product Development. The Sourcing Manager will influence our portfolio of brand products by selecting and managing Soft Good Accessories (primarily nylon, bags, packs and pouches) vendors to ensure on-time, competitively priced, quality product. You will manage all phases of sourcing strategy and finished goods production; including vendor selection and development, capacity and allocation planning, lead-time and product cost negotiations, purchase order management and delivery tracking and reporting. This role is dual-facing - you will partner with and balance product procurement needs with vendor partners capabilities and capacity constraints. Responsibilities: - With Product Development and Supply Chain, sets strategic direction and priorities for all Soft Good Accessories Sourcing. Ensures timely setting achievement of functional goals. - Contributes to the strategic direction and priorities of the Soft Good Accessories category. - Creates and implements sourcing strategies for given product categories to ensure effective and efficient product development and procurement based on business needs; enrolls business partners in decision-making process and ensures sourcing strategy and direction are clearly communicated. - Proactively builds market intelligence, to inform pricing and allocation decisions relative to currencies, labor rates, commodities, new technologies, etc. - Selects, qualifies and on-boards new vendors in accordance with ATK s SS group defined compliance and sourcing policies. Manages relationships with approximately factory partners. - Understand all product objectives. Proactively identify and resolve product spec issues upfront. Allocate product specs to the right supplier. - Manages all cost negotiations with vendors through the analysis of style and department-level product cost data, factory price quotes versus product features and components, margin targets and historical margin performance; effectively balances expectations of all parties involved (Merchandising, Product Marketing Managers, Design, Development, vendors, etc.) and communicates results. - Determine creative alternatives to achieve product objectives. - Identify production issues upfront and involve Quality Assurance teams to resolve. - Monitors and ensures compliance to production timeline milestones. - Negotiates consistent production lead-time standards with factories and ensures compliance. - Develops and manages vendor scorecard; before the PO is placed, proactively identifies and resolves actual or potential delivery delays; reviews vendor delivery performance and implements corrective action plans as required. - Oversees Harmonized Tariff Schedule code assignment process in compliance with U.S. Customs requirements. - Understand trade and political issues and incorporate into sourcing decisions. Reduce risk. - Contributes to the on-going definition and development of systems and processes to support the Sourcing function. - Ensures vendor expectations are clearly defined via vendor manual. Education and Experience Requirements: - 5+ years of experience in a Sourcing Management role, preferably in hunting, sporting or tactical nylon products - 10+ years work experience in product procurement, purchase order management and global supply chain, preferably in preferably in hunting, sporting or tactical nylon products - Negotiation experience/aptitude. - Understanding of product development and the manufacturing processes. - Working knowledge of global sourcing trends and strategy. - Strong analytical skills: ability to recognize trends and execute adjustments with internal and external partners, capitalizing on both strategic and tactical opportunities. - Demonstrated success in process review and improvement: challenges the status quo, champions change and effectively influences others to change. - Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking and sound judgment to effectively resolve problems. - Actively solicits input/feedback from others in making decisions; considers the impact of decisions and actions on internal and external customers. - Builds strong relationships and successfully collaborates within function, across ATK and with external partners to achieve business goals. - Strong verbal and written communications skills. - Able to manage large amounts of data.
