GE is imagination at work Role Summary/Purpose The Internetworking Security Operations Lead will provide support for the day-to-day operations of internetworking services such as firewalls, proxies, load balancers, and IPS. Working within an ITIL framework and part of a global operations team, the engineer will have an in depth knowledge of SSL VPN technologies and be a subject matter expert in connecting remote and traveling customers to the network. Essential Responsibilities Be subject matter expert in the area of internetworking (firewalls, proxy, load balancing) Provide advanced knowledge and expertise in troubleshooting complex firewall, proxy and load balancer issues Serve as an escalation pathway for the tier 2 network engineers on complex problems Coach of the offshore Tier 2 team in day-to-day incident troubleshooting Ensure uptime and reliability metrics of the internetworking infrastructure Lead implementation of complex changes and business impacting incidents Coordinate in maintaining system documentation Participate in on-call rotation for incident management and escalation Communicate effectively with customers and leadership by quickly establishing credibility, confidence respect Deliver outstanding communication (written and verbal) during incidents and follows up with RCA and problem management corrective actions Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications: Bachelor ??s degree in Computer Science, other technical field (or a minimum 7 years of enterprise level network experience) Minimum 5 years of hands on experience with internetworking technologies including firewalls, proxy devices and load balancers Minimum 7 years of IT Infrastructure or related IT experience Minimum 5 years of enterprise level internetworking and information security experience Minimum 5 years of hands on experience working with Cisco IOS and various Cisco technologies (firewalls, routers, switches, wireless, etc.) Eligibility Requirements: Due to U.S. Government restrictions to certain types of technology and technical data involved with this position as well as the need to periodically visit domestic military bases to consult with DoD personnel on extranet tools, this position is limited to U.S. Citizens. Desired Characteristics Strong hands on experience with Cisco ASA and Checkpoint firewall technologies Strong hands on experience with Bluecoat proxy devices Advanced technical or industry certifications such as CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CCDP Certification as a CISSP Advanced knowledge in configuring and troubleshooting internetworking technologies Six Sigma certification (GE Employees Only) Strong ITIL management process knowledge and experience and/or certification.
