Internship – Asia Brokerage
This is an exciting insight to the commercial world with exposure to the inner workings of the Asia Brokerage Team from the outset.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide daily support and administrative services to the Asia Brokerage Desk and assist them as they cover client services from London for clients in Asia.
- Take an active part in the global market services we provide by assisting the team where appropriate.
- Service and develop relationships with potential and existing customers to ensure that any customer queries are dealt with promptly.
- Provide research, data analysis information and statistics to the team.
- Attend regular Compliance and Regulatory and company policy training courses as required to keep ahead of industry developments.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Minimum 2:1 degree in Finance, Economics or a related subject.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
- New graduate or up to 1 year’s work experience in a related field.
- A capable oral and written communicator who is able to listen, learn and respond to the team’s requirements.
- Strong analytical and IT skills.
- Self-confidence, able to voice opinions constructively and develop good relationships with the various managers and trading desk staff within the Asia team and the wider Capital Markets business area.
- Possess some working knowledge of the various products traded by the team.
- Entrepreneurial spirit; generate ideas for business improvements and efficiencies within the team and implement these ideas.
- Flexible and adaptable, eager to experience different working environments and cultures, able to adjust to change quickly and keen to take on new challenges.
- Willing to work flexibly and longer hours when required.
