Internship – Energy Trading Sales Assistant recruitment
Primary responsibilities of this individual will be to support the energy marketing team. The duties performed will include but not be limited to:
* Understand credit and risk systems and assist marketers in running credit simulations and monitoring client credit profiles.
* Assist marketers in pricing requests on options, swaps, and other derivatives.
* Ability to do write-ups for clients to provide market color, commentary, analyses, etc.
* Learn the terms and workings of the Energy markets to be able to assist marketers with receiving and relaying quotes from traders.
* Learn and achieve a strong understanding of the energy markets, gas, crude, products, etc.
* Learn the trade entry system and input trades as needed by the marketers.
* Prepare presentations and analysis for the marketing team as needed using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
* Work on ad-hoc projects
Qualifications:
* Understanding of options and derivatives products
* Strong communication skills
* Proficiency in excel
* Ability to multi-task
* Flexibility - Must be able to work flexible hours and work around deadlines and desk needs
* Team Player –– prior industry experience and/or sales and trading experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
the Houston Desk is a relatively small team, and we are able to maintain a relatively small team by working well together. The successful analyst will have to be able to work well with a variety of personalities.
